Can we have a campfire?
Yes, it's not really glamping without sitting around a campfire. A firepit, and the first load of logs for it and the wood burning stove is included. Extra logs are available for £10 per basket. A grill is provided for the fire pit, for cooking on. You can cook on wood, but if you prefer to use charcoal please bring it.

Do you allow dogs?
From 2026 we allow well behaved dogs in Ash yurt. It's £25 extra per stay to cover the additional cleaning costs. Please don't allow dogs on the furniture, keep them on leads at all times, and clean up any mess.

Is there a covered area outside, in case it's hot or rainy?
Each yurt and shepherds hut has a pole and canvas, covered area, so you can sit outside in the sun (or rain) and enjoy the view.

Do you offer space for camping with tents?
We don't have pitches for tents at Bore Place, but Ash Yurt and Daisy Shepherds Hut have large enough flat areas to pitch an extra tent on, so if you stay here these you can also bring a tent for more people, for £25 per tent per night. We do have a couple of wild campsites if this is what you're after.

Is bedding (duvets and pillows), sheets and towels provided?
Bedding (duvets and pillows) are provided in each yurt and hut. Sheets and towels are also provided in the yurts and shepherds Huts. The Hoppers and Basketmakers Huts are self-service, so you bring your own sheets (Kingsize duvet cover, Kingsize fitted sheet and two pillow cases) and towels.

Can I drive up to the yurt or shepherds huts to drop-off my stuff?
No, to preserve the peace and safety of the site you park in the car park and take your luggage up by hand or in one of the trolleys provided. It's about 400m, and is uphill on the way!

Do you offer one night stays?
We offer one night stays in the self-service Hoppers and Basketmakers Huts, but for the yurts and shepherds huts where linen and cleaning are provided, there is a two-night minimum.

Is their power in the yurts or huts?
Only the Hoppers Hut has 240v power sockets - and those are only for low power items, not hairdryers please. The Shepherds and Basketmakers Huts have USB ports for phone charging (when it's been sunny). Everyone can charge their phones at BaseGlamp, about 300m away from the yurts and huts. There's a lock-box, so you can secure your phone while it's charging.

Is there lighting?
The yurts have portable battery powered lamps, and solar lighting in the outdoor kitchens. The huts have solar powered mounted lights inside. We are in an excellent dark skies area, so minimise external lighting so that you can see the stars better, and to minimise our impact on wildlife.

Can we purchase firewood?
Yes firewood (and kindling) is available to buy on site for £10 per crate.

Can we play music?
Yes you can play music on your phone, but not through an external speaker, to avoid disturbing the wildlife and fellow guests.

Can I drink the water?
Yes, the water in the taps in the huts, and in the outdoor kitchens from the yurts is drinking water from the mains.

Are the shared toilets and showers open 24/7
Yes

What time is check-in and check-out?
Check-in is anytime from 5pm and self service, so as late as you like (it is harder to find your yurt or hut for the first time in the dark though!). Check-out is by 11am. If you'd like to check in early, do contact us, as it's often possible, and we're very happy to enable it if we can.
